ProMerch PPS questions
What is ProMerch PPS?
PPS stands for Paint Protection Spray — a sprayable protective coating from Dr. Vinyl that shields paint from chips, contaminants and UV. It’s applied by a Dr. Vinyl technician, not a DIY kit.
Can you apply it at my home or office?
No — PPS application is shop-only. It needs the controlled conditions and cure time of our Denton workshop, so the vehicle comes to us for this one.
How long will you have my vehicle?
Usually 2–3 days depending on the scope of the job. Same-day turnaround would need a spray booth with a bake cycle, which our current setup doesn’t have — so we quote honest timelines rather than rushing the cure.
How is it different from paint protection film (PPF)?
Film is cut and wrapped panel by panel, usually over high-impact areas only, and often takes a week or more. PPS is sprayed over the whole vehicle in our shop in 2–3 days, with no cut edges or seams.
Can PPS change the color of my vehicle?
Yes — PPS can be sprayed as a color rather than a clear coat, so you get the new color and the paint protection in one job. The popular one right now is the tuxedo look: a white body with the roof, pillars and mirror caps left black, or the same two-tone the other way round. Tell us the finish you want and we’ll quote it.
How long does it last?
The product carries a 10-year warranty. How it wears in practice depends on how and where you drive, and we’ll talk that through honestly for your vehicle.
What does it cost?
It’s priced per vehicle — coverage and prep vary a lot between a compact car and a dually. Call or text and we’ll quote yours.
Do you do fleets, RVs and dealership inventory?
Yes. PPS suits dealer front lines, fleets and RVs. Call for volume scheduling.
Are you certified to install it?
We’re an authorized ProMerch PPS installer — that authorization is the credential; there isn’t a separate certification beyond it.
